New SleepWalk Plaza show at the Merrickville United Arts Centre -- Talking All Night: Negotiations with Existence
Saturday Nov 17 at 7:30 pm
Weaving a poetic and thought provoking journey through the nature of existence and the search for meaning in it all, Talking All Night: Negotiations with Existence is the latest stage concert composed, written and narrated by Producer-Songwriter Timothy Trieste, featuring vocalist Shann Bailey. Together, Bailey and Trieste lead two Ottawa-Toronto based groups: SleeepWalk Plaza and The Life of Pearls.
The new SleepWalk Plaza show features songs from the debut album “Talking All Night”, and abbreviated narrations of the short stories in Trieste’s forthcoming book “Negotiations with Existence.” The multi-media concert draws on the philosophy of Kant, Hegal, Jung, Sartre, the Dalai Lama, and the mind bending theories of quantum physics. But central to the theme of the show is a very personal search for meaning in the universe, as told through the very human stories narrated by Trieste which introduce his original songs performed beautifully by the inspired vocalist Shann Bailey. The duo are accompanied by some of the best musicians in Ottawa and Toronto.
The Merrickville concert features an intimate version of the band (without drums and bass) featuring Bailey on vocals, Trieste on guitar, Peter Brown-piano, and Peter Grant-Mackechnie-keyboards.
