While usually held on the first Thursday of every month, this month's festivities will be taking place a little closer to the Heart Holiday: on Thursday, February 9. The Peter Brown Quartet plays mainstream jazz to a packed and enthusiastic crowd at the Queen's Hotel in Carleton Place, 142 Bridge Street from 6 to 9 pm. The band is four of the most acclaimed jazz musicians in the Ottawa Valley -- Don Paterson, trumpet and vocals; Glenn Robb, drums; Dave Arthur, bass and vocals; and Peter Brown, piano and vocals -- and there are always a few accomplished sitters-in for the last-set jam.
